The SANA system (Online Judicial Identity Verification) was developed at the Statistics and Information Technology Center of the Judiciary, under the Judicial Electronic Services Deputy. The system is intended as the official identity-verification platform for judicial services, online access to case files, and other digital interactions related to the Judiciary.

Internal documents show that SANA requires users to authenticate using their national ID number, mobile phone number, and, in some cases, verification of personal information (name, address) against the national civil registry or court records. Official sources emphasize that individuals who do not verify their identity through SANA may be deprived of access to electronic judicial services — including court summonses and case-related notifications — which are now provided exclusively through this platform.

SANA collects and stores the personal identifiers used during registration as well as records of authentication attempts. This raises concerns about transparency, particularly regarding how long the data is retained, who has access to it, and how it is shared with judicial or security bodies. Many users are unaware of these practices or lack meaningful options to control or delete their data under the existing legal structures.
